GB Faulkner Film Society Favor

On Thursday, February 13, the Faulkner University Film Society hosted a small gathering for the viewing of City Lights. City Lights is the number 1 romantic comedy of all time, and was made in 1931! It stars Charlie Chaplin and Virginia Cherrill. The movie was completely silent because it was made during the time when the movie industry was starting to make movies with sound. I thought this was very interesting because I did not have any knowledge of movies like this at all. The story is about Charlie Chaplin's adventures in the big city. During his time in the city, Chalrie falls in love with a flower girl who is blind, and he stops at nothing to help her gain the money to get her sight when he learns of a cure for blindness.
